Corporate payments are no longer just a back-office function — they sit at the heart of how companies operate, scale, and make decisions. Yet behind most B2B transactions, the infrastructure remains fragmented, manual, and largely invisible.
1-Click Procurement is part of a new wave of fintechs challenging that invisibility. By rethinking how data, payments, and purchasing connect at the moment a transaction happens, the company is quietly reshaping how enterprises interact with commerce itself.
In this Q&A, we explore with Eric-Jan Krausch the thinking behind their approach, the shifts redefining B2B finance, and why the future of corporate payments will be built less around tools — and more around intelligent, embedded systems.
1. Tell us about yourself and your co-founder(s).
Alabbas (CTO) and I (CEO) are a proven repeat team. We spent years together at my first startup, Acomodeo, where we solved complex payment and process issues for over 40 multinational clients, eventually leading to a successful exit in 2021. We aren’t just looking for a problem to solve; we are returning to a pain point we know intimately. We’ve seen firsthand how broken B2B transactions stifle growth, and we have the technical and operational history to fix it for good.
2. Who are your target customers, and what problem do you address?
We serve two sides of the transaction: Merchants looking to frictionlessly boost B2B sales, and Corporates desperate to automate spending. The core problem is that modern payment rails move money well, but they lack the necessary data. This “missing data layer” forces companies to waste millions on manual procure-to-pay and expense processes just to figure out who bought what and why. With our extensive technology and AI, we bridge that visibility gap.
3. What is your product/solution, and what is your USP?
We are building the “Corporate PayPal”. Our products Corporate Checkout and Corporate Wallet inject policy, payment, and expense management directly into the point-of-sale. Our newest solution the Corporate Wallet Agent – an AI-powered browser extension – actually allows fully autonomous purchasing on any E-Commerce. While competitors focus on isolated silos – like just cards or just accounting software – our USP is acting as the integrative data layer. We enable full end-to-end automation and “no-touch” expense handling by carrying rich transaction data from the merchant directly to the corporate ERP.
4. What is your current stage and traction?
We are currently LIVE with 14 European Airports expecting to onboard around 3000 corporate clients in the coming years and have secured Master Service Agreements with all major card schemes to deploy globally. We’ve moved past the “idea phase” into institutional validation. Over the next months, we are looking for “smart money’” partners who can help us execute our global go-live with card issuers and scale our infrastructure to meet this demand.
5. How do you go to market?
We use a merchant-first approach to drive adoption, specifically targeting high-friction sectors like business travel. We don’t compete with the banks; we empower them. By partnering with major schemes, we enable issuers – like AirPlus – to offer their clients the rich data and automation that legacy infrastructure simply cannot support. We are the “intel inside” for the next generation of corporate payments.
6. What industry trends should we be watching?
The biggest shift is the “Consumerization of B2B” – Employees now demand the same speed and ease in corporate buying that they get from Apple Pay in their personal lives. To meet this demand, companies are aggressively shifting toward embedded finance. They are looking for ways to escape the high overhead of manual reconciliation, and that requires the kind of data-rich infrastructure we are building.
7. On a personal note: What’s on your bookshelf or podcast app?
To balance the intensity of the startup world, Alabbas and I are huge fans of action and fantasy movies – it’s our favorite way to reset. For professional growth, I’m a regular listener to tech and world news updates to stay ahead of market shifts. And if you’re looking for us after hours, you’ll likely find us at a local shisha bar – we find it’s the best environment for the deep, creative thinking that sparked this company in the first place.
As corporate finance moves closer to the expectations shaped by consumer technology, the companies shaping this transition are those working beneath the surface — redesigning infrastructure rather than adding layers.
1-Click Procurement’s vision reflects a broader shift in the ecosystem: one where payments, data, and decision-making converge seamlessly, and where efficiency is no longer a trade-off for control. The evolution of B2B commerce is already underway — and it’s being built transaction by transaction.
